Natural COSMOS TiO2 Dispersion, T80TINA-70CC Global Launch!

 In this issue, we will introduce the natural COSMOS TiO2 Dispersion, T80TINA-70CC, which offers significantly improved transparency and UV protection compared to existing non-nano TiO2 dispersion.

What is T80TINA-70CC?
It is an upgraded version of the existing SFT85 series, maintaining the concept of non-nano and natural while significantly enhancing transparency, stability, and UV protection. It has velvety texture as we utilizes Dicaprylyl Carbonate, known for its fast-spreading emollient properties.

 T-80TINA was developed by applying the technology of the TINA Pigment, which was launched in 2022, to UV filters. SUNJIN developed T80TINA-70CC by incorporating T-80TINA.

 In order to assess the UV protection of T80TINA-70CC, we conducted In-vitro measurements by adjusting the TiO2 content in the dispersion to be the same. The results showed significant improvements in both SPF and PA compared to the traditional SFT85 series.

Sunjin will be introducing SUNSIL-LUX150H, a premium silica with a new level of softness that is unlike any other silica, at the in-cosmetics Asia.

SUNSIL-LUX150H is a silica with a pearl-like smooth surface, making it ideal for loose powder due to its excellent flowability. It also has a soft feel and is transparent. Although it has been launched globally for over a year, it has already recorded annual sales of over tens of tons thanks to the positive feedback from customers.

Talc-free makeup with SUNPRESS-TR: A safer, more sustainable option

 In this issue, we will introduce SUNPRESS-TR, a talc substitute ingredient developed in response to the growing consumer demand for talc-free makeup, and talc-free makeup formulations using it.

Talc has been used as a basic material in various formulations (blush, eyeshadow, foundation) for a long time. However, as asbestos contained in talc was designated as a carcinogen, the demand for talc-free formulations is increasing among consumers.

SUNPRESS-TR, developed as a talc substitute material, is characterized by its unique soft feel. This is confirmed by the fact that the coefficient of friction of SUNPRESS-TR is the lowest among coated talc, sericite, etc., when measured using a Rheo meter.

In addition, SUNPRESS-TR has excellent pressability, making it suitable for eyeshadow and pressed powder formulations. When we conducted drop testing using 100% of each material, SUNPRESS-TR endured the more drop test than the talc.

We developed an eyeshadow formulation using these characteristics of SUNPRESS-TR. This formulation uses SUNPRESS-TR at 43.5% to replace talc, making it strong against external impact and has a soft, velvety feel.

Introducing a Capsule Product with Light Feeling and High UV Protection for Sunscreen Gel Formulation!

 We will introduce Hybrid series, which is PMMA capsule product, offering a way to use chemical UV filter in water phase in this issue.

 Hybrid series is a raw material that chemical UV filter is encapsulated in PMMA. You can create sunscreen products with lightweight feeling by incorporating it in water phase. Since its patent application began in 2007, it has been one of the core products of SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE, consistently selling over 40 metric tons annually.

 Most chemical sunscreens are meant for use in oil phase, but Hybrid series can be used in water phase. This allows for the use of sunscreen for both in oil and water phase and maximizes the effectiveness of sun protection.

 Because of its lightweight texture, when used in sunscreen gel formulations that require limited oil phase application, it allows for the creation of SPF50 PA4+ sunscreen gels with a comfortable feel, without containing ethanol.

 At Sunjin Beauty Science, we offer a Free Clinical Test Service (in-vivo & in-vitro) for customers developing sunscreen formulations containing our raw materials.

 You can expect to receive test results within 3 weeks after the arrival of your samples. You can save both time and costs by quickly receiving results before formally requesting testing from external certified clinical institutions. This helps shorten the formulation development timeline.

 To request testing, you will need to submit a Request Form along with a minimum of 30g of samples. The request form should include details such as the type and concentration of UV filters used, as well as the expected SPF and PA values. This information is crucial for adjusting the expected SPF and PA values to prevent excessive skin damage to test subjects.

 Our testing standards comply with international regulations (UVB: ISO24444, UVA: ISO24442), and upon request, we can also conduct in-vitro (UVA) testing following the guidelines of the US FDA.

 Furthermore, with over 1000 clinical trials conducted annually and regular calibration with external accredited clinical institutions, we provide reliable and trustworthy data.

The in-vivo testing results will be provided in the above format.

Meet the ‘W/O Moisturizing Cera Multi Balm’ containing ceramide!

In this issue, we will introduce ‘W/O Moisturizing Cera Multi Balm’, which is characterized by extreme cool moisture with the formulation of W/O ceramide multi balm.

Unlike existing multi balms that contain only a small amount of moisture, ‘W/O Moisturizing Cera Multi Balm’ is a multi balm formulation that contains more than 40% moisture and feels cool moisture.

In addition, since it contains more than 40% moisture, it is not sticky compared to other multi balms and possible to supply moisture right after applying to the skin.

This formulation used 2% of CERAPLEX MIX to use ceramide in the W/O formulation. The CERAPLEX series is a ceramide delivery system using hectorite. It is a product designed to easily use ceramide, a poorly soluble substance, in W/O formulation.

Introducing an O/W Mineral Sunscreen with UV Protection of SPF50 & PA4+ !

 In this issue, we will introduce a transparent O/W mineral sunscreen formulation with a reliable UV protection of SPF50 & PA4+.

 A lot of customers prefer O/W suncare products as they have lightweight and moisturizing feeling due to the high water content.

 However, due to the high water content, there is limitation on the amount of oil phase that can be formulated, making it challenging to achieve high UV protection levels without using a significant amount of sunscreen agents.

 Therefore, SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE has utilized zinc oxide dispersions with various size on the oil phase, namely SUNCLEAR-Z50(K) and Z65M, in our formulation to achieve high UV protection and excellent transparency.

 Furthermore, we have enhanced the UV protection by incorporating TXD55-AQ which is the titanium dioxide aqueous dispersion into the water phase.

 All sunscreen formulations from SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE are distributed only after passing internal in-vivo testing. Furthermore, these formulations have been verified for their UV protection efficacy by external organizations, ensuring their reliability and trustworthiness for your use.

Experience moisturizing tone-up cream enriched with ceramides!

In this issue, we will explain how to make the tone-up cream that brightens and livens up the skin tone even more moisturizing by incorporating ceramides.

Tone-up products are used to balance and brighten the skin tone, as well as to prevent hyperpigmentation and discoloration. When you apply tone-up cream, it immediately brightens the skin tone, which is why consumers prefer this product.

Using hydrophobically surface-treated TiO2 ensures better adherence to the skin, resulting in an even-spread tone-up cream. Therefore, to create a tone-up cream that spreads evenly, we incorporated AQUA-TITAN(EWG), which is hydrophobically surface-treated TiO2 dispersed in the water phase.

Customers’ primary desires for Tone-up creams are to achieve a natural and even-toned effect without any clumping along with a moisturizing and smooth sensation.

To immediately provide this moisturizing effect to the tone-up cream, we incorporated AQUA PHYTOPLEX, a nano-emulsion product at a concentration of 2.5%. Additionally, we used Ceraplex Mix Aqua at 2.5% to strengthen the skin barrier and enhance the smooth feel.

Among these ingredients, Ceraplex Mix AQUA utilizes hectorite to stabilize ceramides, enabling the formulation to be stable. Moreover, it contains skin lipid-like components such as ceramides, fatty acids, and phytosterols, which help strengthen the damaged skin barrier.

T-80 Series, the key to improve UV protection and coverage in a makeup formulation

 In this newsletter, we will introduce T-80 series, the TiO2 which can improve both UV protection and coverage at the same time. Also, these are especially specialized for makeup formulation that requires dark shades.

T-80 series is a core/shell typed non-nano TiO2 surrounded by a continuous silica layer. Due to this structural characteristic, it has superior UV blocking ability than pigment TiO2 when applied to a makeup products with a sunscreen efficacy.

In addition, T-80 series has excellent coverage, and it is possible to develop formulations for people with darker skin color.

In the case of using ordinary pigment TiO2, there is a problem that the formulation does not darken beyond a certain extent even if iron oxide is additionally added. However, if you use the T-80 series, you can see that the formulation is expressed in a darker shade with sufficient coverage.

T-80 series is composed of T-80 (Uncoated), T-80AS (Alkyl Silane Coated), T-80JJ (JoJoba Ester Coated), T-80LL (Lauroyl Lysine Coated), and T-80SA (Stearic Acid Coated). and can be used selectively according to formulation.

How Much Does the Sun Protection Value Increase When Using a Sunscreen with Dispersion?

 In this issue, we will explain how much sun protection value increases when using a sunscreen with dispersion compared to using powder.

 It is commonly known that using sunscreen in the form of a dispersion is more effective in enhancing the sun protection performance of sunblock products compared to using sunscreen in powder form.

 We have confirmed that when using the same ZnO contents, sunscreen in dispersion form provides over 30% higher SPF compared to sunscreen in powder form through internal in-vivo test.

 The reason for the improved sun protection efficacy when using a dispersion can be explained through the microscopic images.

 When using a dispersion, the sun protection product is evenly spread without aggregation and this even distribution leads to the enhanced sun protection efficacy.

 Therefore, it is essential to incorporate a dispersion to create sunscreen products with high SPF and PA level using only physical UV blockers.
