We would like to share the untold story behind the development of rod shape Zinc Oxide, the world’s first and currently only commercially produced in SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE.
We got inspiration for rod shape Zinc Oxide from the hard rime and you can see it which was created by the biting cold this winter.

The following pictures were taken during a hike on Mount Taebaek in winter in 2021. Mount Taebaek is one of the most beautiful mountains located in Korea.
Did you notice any differences from typical hard rime formations in the above pictures?
For some reason, the hard rime on the summit of Mount Taebaek was growing only in one direction.
If natural formations can grow in one direction in the environment, it’s conceivable that they could also be commercially produced in mass quantity.
Then, what will be the advantage which rod shape Zinc Oxide has compared to the typical spheroidal shape?
The phenomenon of crystals growing in one direction termed Epitaxial growth in scientific terms.
