Through this partnership, we provide structured support for Product Information File (PIF) preparation and EU registration, whil e also assigning a Responsible Person (RP) within the EU to ensure safety compliance.

  HYDROSOLA-AOB stably encapsulates organic UV filters in a multi-layered structure, which helps reduce skin irritation while enabling their dispersion in the water phase of O/W formulations.

 As UV filter encapsulation technologies continue to diversify, formulation options are expanding.

HYDROSOLA-AOB can be easily incorporated into formulations and offers a light, non-sticky, and low-shine finish. With its small particle size, it provides excellent dispersion and UV protection, making it an ideal ingredient for liquid sun care formats such as sprays and toners.

 In addition, HYDROSOLA-AOB allows for customizable SPF and PA levels based on concentration, enabling tailored sun protection performance. Even at low concentrations, it delivers sufficient UV protection, making it highly suitable for formulations where improving texture and sensorial properties is essential.

 Moreover, the multi-layer encapsulated organic UV filters in HYDROSOLA-AOB are stably delivered onto the skin, offering a lighter, less oily, and fresher finish compared to conventional organic UV filter-based sunscreens.

Sunjin Beauty Science’s Quality Strategy to Meet
Strengthened Random FDA Inspections

 In 2019, Sunjin Beauty Science became the first Korean cosmetic ingredient manufacturer to undergo an on-site inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), successfully passing with a No Action Indicated (NAI) rating.

 This result signifies that our manufacturing operations and quality management systems are in full compliance with FDA regulations, requiring no corrective actions. It is a strong testament to the international quality and safety standards that Sunjin Beauty Science upholds in all our products.

 On May 6, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a policy to strengthen unannounced inspections of overseas manufacturing facilities.

 This initiative aims to apply the same level of regulatory oversight to foreign manufacturing sites as those within the United States, reinforcing the safety and quality of food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and cosmetics supplied to American consumers.

 Previously, inspections of overseas manufacturing sites were typically conducted with prior notice. However, this approach has drawn criticism for potentially failing to reflect the facility’s actual operating conditions. To address these concerns, the FDA has announced plans to actively implement unannounced inspections moving forward.

As part of this initiative:

– Inspectors will no longer accept any assistance from the facility regarding lodging or transportation.

– The FDA has clarified its authority to take strong regulatory actions in cases where inspections are delayed, refused, or limited by the manufacturer.

 The FDA conducts approximately 12,000 domestic and 3,000 international inspections annually. Despite prior notifications, overseas facilities have been found to have more than double the rate of significant deficiencies compared to domestic sites. This highlights the need for enhanced transparency and effectiveness in the inspection process, driving recent policy changes.

 In response to the FDA’s recent policy changes, Sunjin Beauty Science is proactively strengthening its quality management by:

– Enhancing internal quality training programs

– Advancing record-keeping and documentation systems

– Conducting regular audits of GMP-compliant manufacturing environments and quality systems

 Through these measures, we are committed to maintaining rigorous compliance and ensuring the highest standards of product safety and quality.

RSPO Renewal Complete!
Sunjin’s Sustainability Journey Moves Ahead

 At Sunjin Beauty Science, we are committed to practicing sustainable management, and RSPO certification is a core part of our internal sustainability policy.

In January 2025, we successfully completed the five-year renewal audit required by the RSPO with zero non-conformities.

RSPO stands for Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, a global initiative established to prevent environmental destruction caused by unsustainable palm oil production and to promote sustainable production and distribution.

* What is palm oil?
Palm oil is a plant-based oil extracted from oil palm fruit. It is widely used in a variety of products — from processed foods like bread, cookies, cereal, instant noodles, chocolate, and margarine, to everyday consumer goods such as soap, detergent, lipstick, and shaving cream.

 RSPO certification applies to the entire supply chain, from palm oil production to manufacturing, processing, distribution, and final consumption. All stakeholders within this supply chain must obtain and maintain certification to sell RSPO-certified products and ensure sustainability values are upheld.

Through this interconnected structure, the entire supply chain contributes to responsible environmental stewardship and social standards, ultimately delivering sustainable products to consumers.

On February 3, 2025, the RSPO launched PRISMA, a digital certification and data management platform aimed at enhancing transparency and operational efficiency.

Due to the transition to this new platform, temporary technical issues led to a delay of more than one month in the issuance of renewed certificates, prompting a number of customer inquiries. The issue has now been resolved and the updated certificate has been officially issued.

Sunjin strictly uses only palm-derived raw materials with RSPO certification and currently offers over 80 products certified under the MB* model.

*RSPO Supply Chain Models:

–IP (Identity Preserved): Certified oil from a single identifiable plantation

–SG (Segregated): Certified oil from multiple plantations, kept separate from non-certified oil

–MB (Mass Balance): Certified and non-certified oils may be mixed within controlled systems

The HECTOGEL series is an oil-based thickener line developed by Sunjin Beauty Science through in-depth research and innovation. These thickeners are formulated by blending HECTORITE powder, an activator, and oil using high shear mixing technology. This method enables the OH groups on the edges of the hectorite particles to interact through hydrogen bonding, resulting in a distinctive and stable thickening structure.
