The HECTOGEL series is an oil-based thickener line developed by Sunjin Beauty Science through in-depth research and innovation. These thickeners are formulated by blending HECTORITE powder, an activator, and oil using high shear mixing technology. This method enables the OH groups on the edges of the hectorite particles to interact through hydrogen bonding, resulting in a distinctive and stable thickening structure.
Notably, the hectorite must be thoroughly dispersed using high shear equipment to properly form the “House of Cards” structure, making it essential to use this system to achieve optimal performance.
HECTOGEL-EUG is formulated with Octyldodecanol, a natural emollient, offering excellent thickening performance and formulation stability. It is an ideal solution for clean beauty formulations seeking a thin, smooth sensory profile.
The product can be applied to a wide range of formulations, including makeup, skincare, and sun care.
The HECTOGEL series includes a variety of oil bases, ranging from silicones to natural emollients. Among them, the HECTOGEL MILD series is a low-irritation grade that replaces Propylene Carbonate with 2,3-Butanediol, minimizing concerns about skin irritation.
