Check out TiO2 manufactured at GMP facility!

Today, we would like to introduce a transparent TiO2, TX-85 which is manufactured at Sunjin’s GMP compliant facility.

TX-85 is a nano-sized TiO2 treated with Silica and Dimethicone that is compliant to the SCCS opinion in the EU. It can provide good dispersibility in different types of oils and can be used in Alumina free formulations.

TX-85 is manufactured at an API GMP facility that meets the US FDA requirements for cosmetic materials used in sunscreen products. It has a National Drug Code(NDC), so TX-85 can be used in the US.

TX-85 provides excellent photostability as its surface is coated with Silica and Dimethicone. When you put 10% of TX-85 into Ascorbyl palmitate and Caprylic/capric triglycerides, you can find the least color change after 2 hours in comparison to other TiO2 products.

We are proud to announce that Sunjin Beauty Science was selected as a ‘Youth-friendly Small Giant’ for the 7th consecutive year in 3 areas: 1. Wages 2. Work-life balance 3. Job security. Of the 1,217 selected companies, only 378 companies were eligible for all three.

‘Youth-friendly Small Giant’ means a small or medium-sized enterprise that meets 7 requirements and has excellent wages, work-life balance and job security that young people most desire in a workplace.

Sunjin responds to the new China NMPA regulations

Today we would like to explain the new China NMPA(formerly the China Food & Drug Administration or CFDA) regulations and how Sunjin is responding to the new regulations.

In China, 「Measures for the Administration of the Registration and Recordation of Cosmetics」 was formulated in order to establish a database for safety evaluation and product traceability. Therefore information on all raw materials in a formulation will be open, and safety data must be registered in NMPA’s “cosmetic ingredients safety information registration platform”

Sunjin will register our raw materials on the NMPA platform and provide “Submission Code” to customers. Through this, customers can easily access product information by entering the “Submission Code” on the NMPA platform without having to register separately by receiving safety-related information on all raw materials in product formulations.

The NMPA platform opened on December 30^th, 2021. Starting with SUNZnO-NAS, Sunjin is registering raw materials on the platform. We promise to proceed registration in sequence and provide submission code for all of our products.

How to formulate an unscented toner with a high concentration of oil (4.5%)

Today we would like to introduce how to formulate an unscented toner with a high concentration of oil (4.5%) using self-emulsifiable AQUA Oil series.

AQUA Oil series are translucent nano-emulsions which allow for the incorporation of moisturizing oils into different formulations by simple stirring without the use of a special high shear homogenizer such as a microfluidizer. You can choose a suitable product in our AQUA Oil product range below depending on your formulation.

Especially AQUA CCTG and AQUA PHYTOSQUALANE have high oxidation resistance and better stability with less double bonds and lower iodine value compared to the other AQUA Oil series. Therefore AQUA CCTG and AQUA PHYTOSQUALANE have almost no scent and there is no need to cover scent with fragrance.

AQUA Oil Series contain 30% of oil, so when you add 15%, you can easily develop a stable toner formulation with 4.5% oil concentration.

Is Zinc effective against COVID-19?

In this week’s issue, we would like to provide information that Zinc, an element of Zinc Oxide provided as UV filter by Sunjin, can have a positive effect on the treatment of COVID-19.

Zinc is an essential micronutrient for human metabolism and is known to modulate antiviral and antibacterial immunity and regulate inflammatory response.

According to recent papers, Zinc is considered to have a protective effect as adjuvant therapy of COVID-19 through reducing lung inflammation, modulation of antibacterial and antiviral immunity especially in the elderly. Further studies are still needed.

Zinc Oxide, which has Zinc as an element, is manufactured as a physical UV filter at Sunjin, so we ask for your continued interest and support.

Sunjin has aquired a new SEM machine for quality competitiveness and prompt response to recent regulations.

A scanning electron microscope(SEM) is a type of electron microscope that produces images of a sample by scanning the surface with a focused beam of electrons. On the JRC report about nano-materials, which is now an important issue in Europe, the method to identify nano-materials is limited to “descriptive EM”. Thus, there is a growing need for SEM analysis.

As a quick analysis of our products has become available with a new SEM machine, we will develop and provide more competitive products along with higher quality.
