New 2D Pickering Emulsifier for Polar Oils: MLB-Polar Global Launch!

We would like to introduce MLB-Polar, a new 2D pickering emulsifier that shows great emulsifying capacity for polar oils .
MLB is a silicone-free, PEG-free and PPG-free ingredient for Clean Beauty. It uses 2 dimensional Hectorite technology to enhance emulsion stability of W/O formulations. And now, we have MLB-Polar which maximizes emulsifying capacity for formulations with polar oils.
The MLB series provides great emulsion stability because it is a type of Pickering Emulsifier. The Hectorite and emulsifier of MLB are located at the interface of the emulsion. MLB forms a type of network around the water droplets to stabilize the emulsion.
MLB-Polar has strong emulsifying capacity for formulations that contain polar oils such as ester oils, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate and chemical UV filters.
A formulation with 4% of MLB-Polar has better stability when compared to one with 4% of another emulsifier and 2% of a thickener.

Talc-free Pressed Powder Foundation and Eye Shadow using SUNPRESS-TR!

Today we would like to introduce Talc-free pressed powder foundation and eye shadow formulation. SUNPRESS-TR, developed as a Talc replacement, was used in the formulations.
SUNPRESS-TR provides a soft feel. It has the lowest coefficient of friction among the tested materials.
The first formulation developed utilizing this feature is a pressed powder foundation. This formulation contains 54.9% of SUNPRESS-TR, therefore it provides a soft texture.
Not only that, SUNPRESS-TR has great pressability. When we conducted drop testing using 100% of each material, SUNPRESS-TR endured the drop the most times after EPU-2X.
The second formulation is an eye shadow. This formulation contains 43.5% of SUNPRESS-TR, which makes it soft and not easily broken.

The new revisions of COSMOS certification are coming up!

In this news letter, we will introduce the major revisions of organic cosmetics certification「COSMOS」 and the authorized ingredients registered by Sunjin Beauty Science.
ECOCERT Group is about to revise the COSMOS standard for the first time in 4 years. Prior to this, in 2021, they had conducted public consultation for COSMOS stakeholders, internal and external experts, and existing certified customers.
As a result, the draft version of the standard was issued on May 25th.
The official version is planned to be issued at the end of 2022 and applied in May 2023.
Based on the four core principles that the COSMOS standard follows, six major subjects have been published.
Regulations and trends in the global cosmetics industry such as nano issues and sustainable management are also actively reflected in this content.
Therefore, it will be essential forcompanies to approach incorporating Green Chemistry into business management in the future.

‘Cool Watery Touch Essence Sun Balm’ is full of moisture!

We are happy to introduce a new W/O sun stick formulation, ‘Cool Watery Touch Essence Sun Balm’ that contains a high level of water essence.
By adding water essence to an existing oil phase only formulation, SUNJIN created a W/O type formula. Cool Watery Touch Essence Sun Balm provides an extremely moisturizing effect acting as Skin Care as well as Sun Care.
This formulation contains a combination of Chemical filters and Physical filter. It is transparent on the skin as nano-sized TiO2 was used.
Also, It contains 24.4% of water, therefore it has a lot of possible marketing points using water soluble ingredients.
