 After SUNSIL-LUX150H’s launch in 2022, the successor to the highly acclaimed SUNSIL-LUX150H is set to be launched, garnering significant attention from customers worldwide.

 The newly introduced SUNSIL-LUX130 and SUNSIL-LUX150 feature a more compact design and reduced absorption capacity compared to their predecessors.

 SUNSIL-LUX series features silica with a smooth texture like pearl surface and excellent transparency. Moreover, its high fluidity allows for the development of formulations that flow smoothly like water when formulated in loose powder.

 The existing product, SUNSIL-LUX150H, has the particle size as of 13μm and the absorption capacity as of 1.4~2.1cc/g. However, we have introduced a smaller-sized product with reduced absorption capacity in response to the customer’s demand. You can choose the most suitable product for your own specific needs in various formulations.

 SUNSIL-LUX series stands out with its exceptionally clean surface compared to other silica products in the market. It is achieved through a unique manufacturing process exclusive to SUNSIL-LUX series.

 SUNSIL-LUX series offers an astonishingly smooth texture and transparency due to its clean surface.
In fact, SUNSIL-LUX150H had the most transparency when mixed with 0.2g of silica and 19.8g of MCT oil.

 Furthermore, when we compare the case with use of 2g of silica in sun care formulations, we could develop a more transparent formulation with SUNSIL-LUX150H. The new products, SUNSIL-LUX130 and SUNSIL-LUX150, maintain the advantages of the existing product(SUNSIL-LUX150H) while satisfying the various needs of our customers.

Experience the soothing gel with ultimate hydration!

In this issue, we will introduce the soothing gel that maximizes moisturizing power by incorporating the AQUA series.

The AQUA Oil series is an advanced micro-emulsion ingredient that enables the easy dispersion and utilization of moisturizing natural oils in the water phase without the necessity of high-pressure homogenizers or heating processes.

We have developed a soothing gel by incorporating 2.02% of AQUA Oil into the existing soothing gel, maximizing its moisturizing power. The results of TEWL(TransepidermalWater Loss) measurements have shown significant improvement compared to the traditional soothing gel formulation.

Below is the data showing the Deep Skin Penetration effect of AQUA Oil using 3D Raman Spectroscopy. You can observe that Micro Emulsion penetrates more deeply into the skin compared to Macro Emulsion.

SUNSIL-OLEO Series, A New Standard of Natural Lipophilic Silica

In this letter, I will introduce the advantages of natural lipophilic silica, SUNSIL-OLEO Series.

SUNSIL-OLEO series is a material with lipophilic characteristics, which is treated with Cetyl Alcohol on both interior and exterior side of naturally derived silica. Because it is processed with Cetyl Alcohol, it has a much softer feel than the regular silica.

Also, it has the characteristics of absorbency and lipophilicity, it can keep the skin’s moisture and selectively absorb sebum. Based on these characteristics, SUNSIL-OLEO series can be used as a substitute for porous PMMA.

 In fact, as a result of testing using various micro beads, it was possible to show the effect that the formulation was absorbed quickly within 15 seconds when using a hydrophobic micro bead such as 2um sized SUNSIL-OLEO20.

Therefore, if you use the SUNSIL-OLEO series, you can get the following advantages.
• Selectively absorbs sebum
• Creates formulations that absorb quickly
• Excellent feel due to soft use

Looking Back on 2023, SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE Has Grown Together with the Customers.

 First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our customers for their love and support for SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE throughout 2023, and for their interest and support in our newsletter.

 This year was a meaningful year for SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE as well. We participated in a total of 12 exhibitions in various countries, making efforts to promote SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE by meeting with more customers than ever before.

 Furthermore, we actively engaged in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities, including a $10,000 donation to support Turkiye, which was facing difficulties due to an earthquake, and conducting beach cleanups. Additionally, as the first Korean cosmetics raw material manufacturer to introduce a Raman spectrometer, we continued our efforts in quality and sustainability through initiatives such as RSPO certification renewal and the implementation of halal policies.

 As a result of our focused efforts on online marketing activities, we achieved significant success in maintaining a Kakaotalk channel with over 1,400 friends and a WeChat channel with over 1,900 friends.

 In 2024, we will continue to make efforts to reach our customers through a variety of online and offline activities.

 We hope you finish the remaining days of 2023 in good health and happiness, and may the upcoming year, 2024, be a year of even greater growth for you.

Experience a cleansing balm enriched with ceramides!

Today, we will introduce a cleansing balm formulation enriched with ceramides, providing a moisturizing sensation even after cleansing.

We developed a cleansing balm containing 100ppm of ceramides, utilizing Ceraplex Mix Aqua at 0.1%. With the 100ppm of ceramides in the formulation, you can experience a moisturized feeling without tightness after using the cleansing balm.

 Ceraplex Mix AQUA is a Ceramide delivery system for O/W formulations, making it easy to incorporate ceramides into your formulations. It contains natural ceramides at 1,000ppm and synthetic ceramides (Pseudo Ceramide) at 100,000ppm, allowing you to use ceramides in your formulations at a reasonable price.

Unlike products that rely on liposome technology for incorporating ceramides into O/W formulations, Ceraplex Mix AQUA, utilizing HECTORITE, allows for even more stable formulation development.

The superior stability of Ceraplex Mix AQUA compared to liposome technology is attributed to the stabilization provided by HECTORITE, which wraps around the emulsion droplets.

 SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE, a leading cosmetics ingredient manufacturer in South Korea, has introduced the Raman spectrometer that can visualize the skin absorption rate of cosmetics in 3D images.

 What is a Raman spectrometer?
It is a device that can visually confirm the absorption of a product from the surface of the skin to the inside of the skin through 3D Image Mapping. This device is a very expensive device that is owned by only 2 clinical companies in South Korea.

 In addition to the arm area, skin absorption rate can be visually confirmed on the face, which is where most cosmetics are applied directly. As a result of confirming the Deep Skin Delivery effect through Raman spectrometer, it was observed that Micro Emulsion containing AQUA Oil penetrates deeper into the skin.

 SUNJIN BEAUTY SCIENCE will develop more competitive products and provide improved quality products with Raman spectrometer, which were the first to be introduced by cosmetics ingredient manufacturers in Korea, and Solar Simulator, a clinical ultraviolet protection measurement device.

In-cosmetics Asia 2023: Sunjin’s Popular&Noteworthy products among customers

 We would like to sincerely thank everyone who visited the In-cosmetics Asia 2023 exhibition held at BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand from November 7th to 9th.

For those of you who were unable to attend In-cosmetics Asia this year, we will briefly introduce the products and formulations that received the most attention from customers.

First, the SUNZnO-200 series which is the world’s first rod-type zinc oxide. Rod-type zinc oxide has a softer feeling compared to regular spherical zinc oxide.

Moreover, it has much better spreadability as it has less clumping and can cover a wider area. It is also transparent and has excellent UV performance.

Second, ethanol free SPF50, PA4+ O/W Ethanol Free Sun Gel formulation. Customers in Southeast Asia countries with hot and humid weather prefer it the most due to its unique light feeling.

Most of organic UV filters should be used in the oil phase, but the Hybrid Series, raw material in which organic UV filters are encapsulated in PMMA, is used in the water phase. This allows both the oil phase and water phase of the formulation to contain UV filter, which can further maximize UV protection and improve the feeling of use.

In 2023, we had the opportunity to introduce our products and formulations to many customers through exhibitions. We look forward to meeting our customers around the world with even more advanced products and formulations next year.

Multi-functional ester with excellent UV boosting effect SUNBOS, Global Launch!

 In this issue, we will introduce SUNBOS, the ester which you can use in sun care formulation for excellent UV boosting effect.

What is SUNBOS?

Its INCI Name is Butyloctyl Salicylate. More specifically, it is an ester product that can be used for UV boosting effect because it increases the dispersion force in sun care formulations.

SUNBOS has a similar chemical structure to Ethylhexyl Salicylate so it can show a UV boosting effect.

In fact, as a result of an in-vivo test using 7.5% of SUNBOS in a ZnO Only suncare formulation, it was confirmed that both SPF and PA increased by more than 15%, showing an excellent UV boosting effect.

COSMOPACK ASIA will be held at the Asia World Expo in Hong Kong this year from November 14^th to 16^th for three days.
