In line with recent clean beauty trends, the demand for PEG, PPG, and silicone-free formulations is surging. However, alternative emulsifiers often cause stickiness due to their inherent nature and can lead to low stability, which is a major concern for formulators.

What is the MLB Series?

The MLB Series is a range of innovative emulsifiers utilizing Pickering Emulsion technology based on two-dimensional platy Hectorite structures. The lineup is meticulously categorized by oil polarity(Log P), allowing you to find the perfect match for any formulation.

Make the optimal choice based on the oil type and polarity you are using. The series perfectly covers everything from silicone oils to ester oils. In particular, MLB-Polar is specialized for organic UV filters and ester oil-based formulas, which are typically the most difficult to maintain in a stable emulsion phase.

According to comparative foundation formula tests conducted by our internal lab, the technical superiority of the MLB Series has been proven. Formula #3, using only 4% MLB-Polar without any additional thickeners, showed the most stable results without phase separation, surpassing Formulas #5 and #6 which utilized conventional emulsifier and thickener blends.

Unlike other products composed of 100% emulsifying agents, the MLB Series has a very low net emulsifier content. Therefore, even at the same dosage (4%) as 100% emulsifiers, the MLB Series achieves a significantly less sticky and lighter sensory profile because the actual amount of emulsifier reaching the skin is remarkably low.
