As serum mists and water serums continue to rise, the “base” of skincare is no longer just water.

In line with this shift, we introduce our phyto synergy base systems: Botanical Water EZ-W series and Botanical Extract EZ-XT series, designed to enable functional formulation from the very first step.

By hydrolyzing plant cell walls with enzymes—rather than heat or solvents—it minimizes the loss of active compounds while maximizing extraction efficiency.

While conventional extraction methods may cause degradation or loss of actives due to high temperature and solvent conditions, this process selectively breaks down cell walls under milder conditions, ensuring both stability and high extraction yield.

In addition, it is an eco-friendly process that reduces the use of energy and chemical solvents.

These process differences are clearly reflected in analytical results.

In a comparative analysis of Centella asiatica leaf water, our sample showed consistently higher levels of plant-derived actives compared to conventional alternatives.
Notably, HPLC analysis revealed a distinct peak at 270 nm—barely observed in competitor samples—indicating that active compounds remain stable even after distillation.

These findings demonstrate that EZ-W-CICA, produced with Green Extraction Technology, goes beyond simply replacing purified water.
It functions as a phyto synergy base, delivering plant-derived actives from the very first step of formulation.

The same advantage is observed in the EZ-XT series, developed using the same extraction technology.

In Centella asiatica extract, key marker compounds—including madecassoside, asiaticoside, madecassic acid, and asiatic acid—were found at higher levels compared to conventional water- and solvent-based (butylene glycol) extracts.

This reflects enhanced extraction efficiency, demonstrating the differentiated performance of our enzyme-based process.

It also enables more effective functional formulation, supported by higher active content.

In addition, SUNJIN extracts are formulated without polyols as solvents.

While polyols are commonly used in conventional extracts for moisturizing and solubilizing functions, they can also act as variables—affecting viscosity, skin feel, and absorption.

By minimizing these solvent-driven variables, SUNJIN extracts enable more precise control over formulation properties and ensure higher reproducibility.
This allows for a more predictable base design environment, without the need for unnecessary adjustments.
